Mental Health

  • Social-Emotional screenings completed on all children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start
  • SCCHS uses a positive perspective, which is promoted through a holistic approach, viewing the child as a whole and addressing all of their needs (physical, social, emotional, and cognitive)
  • A Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) completes classroom mental health observations twice a year in the Head Start and Early Head Start environments
  • Individual mental health observations completed on children, by LMHP, upon request of the parent

Referral and resource information is available for parents including counseling services, therapists, special needs groups, behavioral health, etc.
